In the early 1970s, I never remember hearing a pipe organ until someone played an LP of Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" in which the pipe organ sound was clear. That was the start of it for me, which then lead to borrowing/buying LPs mostly by E. Power Biggs. Once in high school I started to hear pipe organs in churches my various friends would invite me to attend a service...and here I'm am 50-ish years later quite rightly called a pipe organ enthusiast (nerd, for short!)
