Dear all,

some time ago, we discussed in another thread about the possibility of modifying the functionality of some thumb/toe pistons and add features originally not provided with the instrument. In my specific case, I wanted to add some sub and super couplers to my new Concerto 355cc. My instrument has a French specification and the arrangement of the keayboards follow the french order: 1 grand'orgue - 2 positive - 3 récit. The organ comes with the following couplers, by default:

III 4 III
III 16 III
III 16 II
III 16 I

I wanted to use the 4 MIDI pistons for the following couplers:

III 4 II
III 4 I
II 16 I
II 4 I

Once Viscount granted the feasibility, I bought the option and got two files to update the organ. Easy and fast installation and, voilà, the couplers are operative. Viscount recommends replacing one 2DSP board with a 4 DSP board, but since I had already replaced two of them, it did not need to buy an extra board.

I admit that the sound difference with the new couplers, especially with the Fortissimo, blew my mind away, and now I understand why the American market is so keen in having all sub and super couplers already installed on their instruments.

I have recorded l'Apparition de l'Église Éternelle of Messiaen and used all the couplers only in the central C major climax chord. I leave here the link to the video for those who are interested to hear how a doped Viscount Concerto sounds!

Wenn die MIDI Tasten mit den Koppeln belegt sind wie schaltest du MIDI für die Manuale ein?

Die Messiaen Aufnahme ist phantastisch gelungen, extrem realistische Akustik, sehr mystisch. Es zeigt das Physis noch lange nicht am Ende angekommen ist.
